Matalaa pilveä / Low clouds

Joka kesä löytyy niitä hienoja tyyniä päiviä, jolloin matalat pilvet jumiutuu laaksojen pohjille. Samaan aikaan kun kylillä on pilvistä ja kosteanviileää, ylempänä on hieno auringonpaiste. Edellispäivän SAS-lento yritti laskua neljä kertaa ja lähti sitten takaisin Tromssaan. Tällä kertaa koneita tuli kaksi: ensimmäinen löysi heti sopivan raon pilviverhosta, mutta toinen otti yhden ylimääräisen kierroksen vuonolla ja onnistui vasta toisella yrittämällä.

Every summer there are some days when the clouds seem to be glued to the valleys preventing all air traffic very effectively. If one climbs a few hundred meters above the sea level, one suddenly emerges into beautiful sunshine. Ideal conditions for eating lunch at the nearby summit and to watch airplanes attempting to land to the airport. Sometimes it is a matter of minutes. The day before SAS had to return to Tromsø after four attempts while Norwegian landed on the first try. This time there was an extra SAS fly, so two planes in short succession. The first one got in without problems, but the second had one missed approach before landing on the second try.
