Wahlenbergbreen

Viikonlopun seikkailuretki alkoi venekyydillä vuonon yli. Pienen säädön jälkeen vene oli ankkurissa ja jatkettiin matkaa tasangon yli pienelle nyppylälle, josta oli mainiot näköalat Wahlenbergbreen-jäätikölle. Tämä jäätikkö on viime vuosina innostunut valumaan mereen vauhdilla (nk. surging glacier) ja on huomattavan repaleinen.

Another bonzer day in the arctic left no choice and we just had to head out. We decided to take a closer look at the Wahlenbergbreen glacier in Yoldiabukta: park the car (=anchor the boat), walk to a spot with a view, eat and come back home. The surging glacier has lots of seracs and crevasses. Pretty speccy.
