Duunikaverit oli lähdössä jäätikölle hiihtelemään ja kysyivät, voisinko tulla venekuskiksi, jotta saadaan retkiporukka vuonon toiselle laidalle. Siinä sitten tuli mieleen, että voisihan sitä itsekin ottaa sukset mukaan. Tässä vaiheessa Nooraakin alkoi kiinnostaa... Vuonolla oli aamulla isoja aaltoja, mutta saatiin kuitenkin ahkiot, hiihtäjät ja pari koiraakin onnellisesti lähtöruutuun. Siitä jatkettiin sitten naapurivuonoon, joka on tunnettu "sail & ski"-kohde. Keväisin on liikkeellä useampia pieniä ja isoja veneitä, jotka kuskaa turisteja erilaisiin paikkoihin hiihtelemään. Meille oli ehdotettu kohteeksi Protektor-tunturia, joka on selvästi myös suosittu hiihtoturistikohde. Oli todella hienot näkymät, mutta lumi oli varsin kovaa ja jäistä. Toisaalta päivä oli erinomaisen tyyni ja iltaan mennessä vuonokin oli tyyntynyt.
There is lots of commercial business in getting ski tourists into a boat and then anchoring the boat near interesting ski hills. A group of colleagues from work asked me to drop them off in front of a glacier so that they could then ski to Ny-Ålesund. That, of course, offered us a possibility to carry out a DIY sail & ski trip by simply taking our skis with us. We anchored the boat to Trygghamna and skied a (long and hot) glacier up to Protektorfjellet. Unfortunately, the snow was not really great or even good, but the scenery was simply excellent as well as new for us. On top of that, there was practically no wind.
