Kunnon myräkän jälkeen Sukkertoppenilta valahti taas lumivyöry kylään. Lumivyöryennuste oli tasoa 4 ("Suuri" - luonnolliset ja ihmisen aiheuttamat lumivyöryt todennäköisiä), mutta mahdollisten vyöryjen ei oletettu ulottuvan kylään saakka. No, toisin kävi, mutta onneksi tuli vain materiaalisia vahinkoja tällä kertaa. Vyöry on tietysti koko kylän puheenaihe ja joulukuun 2015 vyöry on vielä liian hyvin muistissa. Olohuoneen ikkunasta on kiikaroitu jo ensimmäisiä lokkeja ja yksi partahylje loikoilemassa jäälautalla (pötkäle hävisi merisumuun sillä aikaa, kun koitin päästä lumen täyttämälle parvekkeelle...)
The topic of the week is, of course, the avalanche that reached the town and demolished a couple of houses. Since the December 2015 avalanche, there has been a lot of work about figuring out the best way to permanently protect people living in the town. A recent study indicates that a lot of the houses built in the 1970's are in the high risk zones, so something needs to be done. An avalanche warning system was established, but the size of the avalanche was unexpected. In fact, there was nothing wrong with the avalanche danger level estimate (4 - "High" - natural and human triggered avalanches are likely). And everybody with a snowmobile finding excuses to drive around a bit...
