Ulkoa on välillä kuulunut kunnon pörinää, joten piti mennä lentokentälle potkimaan vähän renkaita. Saksalaisten "turbo-DC3:t" on taas tekemässä mittauksia napa-alueella ja, tuttuja kun ollaan, niin päästiin taas pienelle tutustumiskierrokselle katsomaan lentsikkaan asennettuja mittalaitteita.
We've seen these turbo-DC3s in Svalbard regularly in the past few years and it is interesting to think how we eventually got to know these scientists in the first place. They are studying clouds, snow and ice and we are concentrating on northern lights, but still there are many win-win-situations. We know Longyearbyen and can find the correct contacts to solve their problems. We get to kick the tires of their airplanes (and our students get a tour about the instruments onboard the two big taildraggers).
