Passeja tarkastettiin useampaan otteeseen, mutta eipä kukaan maininnut Nooralle, että sen passi vanhenee parin päivän päästä. No, asia oli tiedossa ja myöskin syy siihen, miksi käytiin Bergeniin mennessä piipahtamassa Oslossa Suomen suurlähetystössä. Uusi passi tulee parin viikon päästä ja vanha menee umpeen parin päivän päästä. Ei siis juuri matkustella sitä ennen. Kuvernööriltä saa kyllä tarvittaessa hätäpassin.
One needs a passport when travelling to/from Svalbard and they check it at several occasions. Well, Noora's passport will expire in a few days and nobody paid any attention. We got back to Svalbard before it expired. And this means that she's now stuck here: you cannot legally travel out without a passport. Kinda cool, isn't it? A new passport should arrive in about two weeks and the Governor can provide an emergency passport also for us foreigners, so the situation is not really desperate.
