Perjantaina alkoi "rakettikampanja". Käytännössä tarkoittaa sitä,
että joka aamu singahdetaan observatoriolle klo 0530 vahtimaan
instrumentteja, jotta raketti laukaistaisiin oikealla hetkellä. Kuuma
linja on suoraan Andøyan rakettiasemalle. Avaruussää on ollut mainio, mutta täällä
planeetan pinnalla on näkyvyys ollut surkea. Tuuli heiluttaa ihmisten
lisäksi autoja. Koirien lisäksi myös rakennukset tuntuvat ulvovan...
The
daily routine is to depart to the observatory every morning at 0530 and
then come back to town for lunch. One of the two rockets is still
waiting for a launch at Andøyaand we are keeping an eye of the instruments at the
observatory to help the Principal Investigator to select the best
moment. The EISCAT radar has no problems with the weather but the
optical instruments would require clear skies for meaningful data.
